Day of Giving is an annual, day-long event that generates support for NC State.

Under the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving team, the NC State Alumni Association provides all alumni and friends exclusive benefits and rich opportunities to engage with your alma mater and peers through our affinity groups and regional networks, engagement experiences, career and professional development, and other experiences. These opportunities are made possible through contributions to the Alumni Impact Fund.

Latinx Alumni Network

During Day of Giving 2024, $5,785 was raised for the Latinx Alumni Network Scholarship Endowment.

The Latinx Alumni Network Scholarship fund provides aid to students who have demonstrated an interest in equality, diversity or social justice for the Latinx community by participating in community activities, social groups, student clubs or organizations that support this focus.

Meet Santiago Gutierrez Franco ’27, a proud recipient of the Latinx Alumni Network Scholarship. Originally from Bolivia, Santiago is pursuing his dream of attending university in the United States and studying agriculture business management at NC State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, thanks to financial support fueling his academic journey.

Black Alumni Society

During Day of Giving 2024, $40,096 was raised for the Black Alumni Society Scholarships.

The Black Alumni Society (BAS) was formed to develop a community of African American NC State graduates who support each other, current African American students and their alma mater through programming, events and fundraising.

In July 1985, the Black Alumni Group established the Black Alumni Scholarship, awarded to African American undergraduate students since 1986.

BAS celebrated its 45th anniversary during NC State’s Red and White Week 2024. Since 1979, BAS has worked to:

  • Foster meaningful connections between Black alumni and the university.
  • Highlight the achievements and contributions of Black alumni.
  • Encourage a sense of belonging and pride among Black alumni and students.

Student Alumni Association

During Day of Giving 2024, 81 gifts and $2,116 were received for SAA.

SAA serves NC State by promoting and participating in campus traditions such as Homecoming, Ram Roast and the NC State Ring. Also, SAA offers opportunities to network with an engaged group of alumni who can offer academic and career advice during our student-alumni events.
