Join fellow NC State alumni and friends by stepping onto the pristine shores of the enchanting Galapagos Islands, where each day offers a transformative experience.
This unique NC State Wolftreks trip is a partnership between the College of Sciences and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition to the knowledgeable naturalist guides, you will be accompanied by Lewis Owen, dean of the College of Sciences; Deanna Daniels, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Paul Brinkman, an NC State history professor and head of the Environmental Humanities Research Laboratory and curator of Special Collections at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences. As a historian of science, Dr. Brinkman has studied Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution.
As you embark on numerous shore landings and various water excursions, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the Galapagos’ unique ecosystem up close, finding yourself surrounded by endemic wildlife in their natural habitat. The thrill of encountering blue-footed boobies, giant tortoises and the Galapagos penguin is unparalleled.
Snorkel through crystal-clear waters alongside playful sea lions, kaleidoscopes of colorful fish and graceful sea turtles in the clear waters of the world’s second largest marine reserve. This is a unique chance to become part of their underwater world, a privilege granted to only a fortunate few.
Your expedition vessel for this voyage is the nimble, 40-guest Isabela II, designed to provide the ultimate in comfort and adventure. Isabela II has sailing privileges other vessels do not so you will enjoy exclusive access to many island locations.
Choose from a variety of water activities, as the ship is equipped with snorkel gear and ocean kayaks. Guides also will lead numerous outings by panga and glass-bottom boat. Additionally, you will participate in intimate lectures and social events with NC State faculty and academic leaders.
This is a unique NC State experience, and we anticipate this tour will fill quickly. Be certain to reserve your spot today. Reserve today online at ncsu.orbridge.com, by calling (919) 515-0508 or by using our online WolfTreks reservation form at go.ncsu.edu/wolftreksreservation.
