More Than Money

After losing her mother to cancer three days into her freshman year at NC State, Alyssa Bowker found herself thrust into a challenging emotional and financial situation. To honor her mother, and seeded by gifts from their wedding guests, she and her husband created an endowment that they continue to grow to support students facing similar difficulties.

Abby Happel [BEDA '22] pursued her undergraduate degree in architecture at NC State's College of Design. She is interested in the study of biophilic design principles and their influence on human health and the environment. She recently spoke with Madame Architect on studio culture, transparency and embracing complexity.

First in the Pack: Meet Some of Our Newest Alumni

Graduation is a milestone to celebrate — an ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. That’s particularly true for Goodnight Scholar and fall commencement speaker Maab Aldulimy, who is excited to take what she’s learned at NC State and use it for the good of her home country through Doctors Without Borders.
