Wolfpack Rewind looks back on a year defined by connection, engagement and Pack pride. From signature celebrations to standout achievements across our community, each moment reflects the strength and spirit that make NC State unforgettable. As we turn the page, we carry this energy forward. Here’s to everything we accomplished together, and all that’s ahead for the Wolfpack.
Day of Giving
You fueled us to new heights. Thank you for being a part of NC State Day of Giving. Whether you’ve been with us since 2019 or this was your first time #GivingPack, you helped make the day a success, and we’re grateful you’re part of the Pack. Thank you for sharing your passion and powering us to an even bolder future.

NC State Caldwell Fellows Wilderness Expedition
This May, 10 NC State students left their everyday worlds in search of adventure as part of the Caldwell Fellows Wilderness Expedition.
This group of Fellows pushed themselves to their mental and physical limits among the icy peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains, facing trials of nature and self doubt, ultimately returning home with hard-won wisdom prized from the mountain range’s frozen jaws.

Welcome to the City Series
Moving to a new city right after graduation is one part thrilling, one part terrifying. It can mean chasing big dreams, starting a first job and finding new rhythms – all while figuring out how to create connections.
With this in mind, the NC State Alumni Engagement team launched the Welcome to the City series. From Seattle to South Florida, Austin to Atlanta and countless cities in between, the first of 27 cities kicked off in July.

Legacy Luncheon

It’s a Wolfpack story 100 years in the making, and it all started when Kenneth Winston Sr. attended NC State and graduated with the class of 1926.
That was five generations ago. Fast forward to 2025 when Helen Phifer ’85 got the call inviting her to Legacy Lunch. She cried happy tears. Her great niece Jenali would be starting at State this fall as part of a long family line that all started with Jenali’s great, great grandfather.
.
We asked students to write a letter to their senior self. We captured the messages of inspiration — the dreams they arrive with, the goals they hope to reach and the person they aspire to become. When they look back in a few years, these words of encouragement are sure to have captured their excitement, curiosity and the big questions they carry as they begin their Wolfpack journey.
Distinguished Alumni Awards
The first NC State Honors took place Sept. 11 in the Talley Student Union ballroom. Groups on hand to help celebrate the 2025 award winners included NC State’s Board of Trustees, the board of the NC State University Foundation, Alumni Association’s board of directors, the Wolfpack Club board and many other members of university leadership. Several former award winners also attended to help greet the latest recipients.
Each year, the NC State Alumni Association honors graduates and friends of the university with the Alumni Achievement Awards. Recently, this year’s award recipients Dena J. King, Louis J. Boos and John Michael Scott were honored for their exceptional achievements in their respective fields and extraordinary contributions to NC State and beyond.

Red and White Week
This October, the Pack came together to Light It Red and celebrate a week filled with signature moments and unforgettable energy. From community service projects to faculty and staff celebrations, student traditions and alumni homecoming events, every corner of campus reflected the pride and spirit that make NC State extraordinary.

Pantry Bowl

The Pantry Bowl, NC State’s annual friendly rivalry with UNC-Chapel Hill, raises funds for the Feed the Pack Food Pantry by turning school spirit into tangible community impact. The competition ran Nov. 3 to 30.
“That rivalry adds a fun, competitive spirit that motivates participation,” said Kathy Ford, a volunteer who has called NC State home for nearly two decades. “It transforms simple charity into an exciting event to see which school can fight for their community the hardest, fostering both camaraderie and school pride.”

Going Places: WolfTreks Travel

NC State’s WolfTreks Young Alumni Travel Program has long encouraged alumni to engage with their curiosity, drive and willingness to learn. One young, 27-year-old alumnus encapsulates all of those values and just registered for his third journey this summer.
For John Wallace, the value of WolfTreks Young Alumni Travel is impossible to fully capture due to the memories that will last him a lifetime. He’s eager to make more discoveries, stronger alumni connections and thousands more wolf tracks all across the globe.
