After a 30 year career at Intel Corporation in engineering, applications engineering, product planning and partner marketing, Patrick Murray wanted to give back to NC State by volunteering for the NC State’s ISE Department as an alumni-student mentor. He was given an adjunct lecturer appointment (volunteer) in the ISE Department which allows him to co-teach ISE 216 (Product Development and Rapid Prototyping), serve as an executive coach supporting the ISE Capstone Project course and give lectures on product management, sustainable engineering and engineering management in the Master’s of Engineering Management Program.
Murray was elected to the ISE Alumni Hall of Fame in 2020, and in 2024 was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joe Biden for his over 4,000 hours of volunteering at NC State. Murray joined the NC State Alumni Board of Directors in 2024.
