Clay Long is a dedicated, higher education professional and event strategist with a background rooted in athletics and community engagement. A proud native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Clay’s journey has taken him from the football fields of the Atlanta Falcons, to the thriving campus of Kennesaw State University.

Currently serving as the Associate Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement at KSU, Clay leads signature initiatives, including the university’s first-ever 40 Owls Under 40 alumni recognition program. He also oversees the KSU Alumni Association’s four affinity groups, and plays a pivotal role in organizing events that bring alumni together to support KSU students.

Prior to this role, Clay worked in Community Relations with the Atlanta Falcons, where he helped coordinate impactful youth, high school, and girls flag football programs. His earlier experience also includes student-athlete engagement at NC State University, and coaching varsity lacrosse at Sanderson High School in Raleigh – each step reinforcing his belief in the power of teamwork, mentorship, and service.

Clay earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from NC State University in 2019, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University.

Clay is an avid sports fan and has a passion for giving back. Clay loves spending time on the golf course when he can, but most importantly, he loves spending time with his wife, Sydney, and being a new dad to his 8-month-old son, Caden.
